XP of my FRIENDS

I read recently the ordeal of some Corpers from one of the dailies, Saturday MirrorOf March 8, 2008 (page 19) to be précised. A story of one Miss Jumai Ibrahim was recounted of how she slept with a Cobra and several visits of armed robbers to Her house. Another story was of one Okechukwu Orji who claimed he was disvirginedBy one female corper with name Christiana when he was in JSS 3…These stories and many other I’ve heard was what prompted me to put in Writing the experience of my friends that had had their own share in NYSC Scheme onThis page. I hope you will find it interesting.However, I would love to ask this question that is the NYSC really fulfilling its ESSENCE?NYSC Scheme was introduced by Federal Government of Nigeria about 35 years agoFor National Unity, integration and peace. I would love to ask you has it meant its ESSENCE…..Mail your comments to olucolourful@gmail.comENJOY ALL THAT I GOT TO SHARE ABOUT MY FRIENDZ NYSC XP…Expect more……………………ENJOY!

She is a good cook (please don’t Call me a glutton or gourmand), someone you can confide in, she is tolerant, and accommodating. In fact the list is endless but I enjoy her most for being motherly (it feelSo good to have a mother away from home, she is my “aburo” though) She is a wife material (I even wan marry her, only say she no gree…don’t tell no one pls! who no like good thing anyway )Meanwhile, she is not AVAILABLE (I trust Naija men, u might have started preparingYour application, no vacancy please) She is engaged to…..i wont tell…I will do youA favour, I would send you her WEDDINNG INVITATION…Enjoy her story… THANK U. .......

DELTA STATE AS IT SOUND IS AN OIL STATE WHICH EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT.AT THE CAMP, IT TOOK ME TWO DAYS BEFORE I WAS FINALLY GIVEN A NUMBER TO ENTER THE CAMP BUT WITH THAT I WAS ALLOWED WITH OTHER TO GO IN TO SLEEP AT NIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY WE LINED UP TO GET NUMBER WHICH STAND AS AN IDENTIFICATION. AFTER THREE DAY I SUCCEEDED AND BEGIN TO LINE UP WHICH WAS THE FIRST THING I NOTICED, U LINE UP FOR ANYTHING YOU WANT TO GET , THE KIT, FOOD, WATER, REGISTRATION ETC.DURNG THE FIRST WEEK I WAS IN PLATOON 10 WHICH IS THE LAST PLATOON, I WAS ABLE TO MEET DIFFRENT PPLE FROM DIFF STATE AND TRIBE TO SAY, I MIXED UPON TIME DUE TO MY NATURE''FRIENDLY'' ,WELL KNOWN IN MY PLATOON THAT I WAS ONE OF THE NOMINEE TO REPRESENT MY PLATOON FOR MISS NYSC WHICH I TURN DOWN DUE TO MY SHYNESS AND PERSONAL VIEW. I WAS POSTED TO OVERSEAS HIGH OGUNU WARRI,AS A SUBJECT TUTOR. I WAS ACCEPTED BUT WITHOUT ACCOMODATION , WHICH MAKE THINGS VERY DIFFICULT FOR MEAS TIME GOES, LOOKING FOR ACCOMMODATION WAS ANOTHER CHALLENGES CORP MEMEBER FACES AND THE HIGH COST OFLIVING IN WARRI ......INCLUDING THE TRANSPORTATION FARE WAS HIGH. WARRI HAPPEN TO BE THE CENTER OF ATTRACTION OF THE DELTA PPLE, LOTS OF OIL COMPANIES ARE ESTABILISHED THERE, BUT MOST CORP MEMEBERS FACED THE PROBLEM OF GETTING A PLACE TO STAY OR RENT .I WAS FAVOURED AS A FRIEND IN MY UNIVERSTY DAYS ACCOMODATED ME DESPITE SHE WAS MAARIED(thats another wonderful bela. AS TIME GOES ON I ADJUSTED BUT NOT FULLY,MY SCHOOL ALSO ASIGNED ME O WORK AS THE SCHOOL SEC, BURSAR AND WAEC REGISTER COMBINE WITH MY TEACHING, WHICH WAS VERY TASKING AND DEMANDING. ASIDE OF THAT, I LEARN TO FACE PPLE AND I WAS ABLE TO OVERCOME MY SHYNESS IN A WAY COS I HAVE TO INTERRACT WITH PPLE. I GOT TO KNOW HOW MONEY COMES INTO THE SCHOOL, THE PARENT RESPOND TO SOME ISSUE AND TURN UP IN PTA MEETINGS. I LEARN TO COUNSELL THE STUDENT AND WAS ASSIGNED TAKE THEM DURING MY DUTY WEEK. I CHANGE THE MODE OF DRESSING OF THE STAFF WITH MY DRESSING ,I DRESS LIKE I BANKER(Trust now)

DREAMS DO COME TRUE

There is a saying that if you cant fly,run;
if you cant run,walk;
if you cant walk,crawl;
No matter what keep moving......

To be mobilized for NYSC is a dream come true...yea...i remember when
i was young and how much i cherish CORPERS,i just desire to be one someday...
......That was one of my chilhood dream.....
When i left Secondary school in 1996,my result could only make up for NCE admission.
When i inquire if the NCE graduates do go for NYSC the responce was NO(they used to).
Meanwhile, against all odds i proceed to College of Education in Abeokuta,that was 1998.

When i finished in 2000 i sat for the GCE but never make English again...I hope you wouldn't
name me OLODO RAPATA.....As i was saying,English language now became my only ticket
to unlock my NYSC dream after bagging Upper Credit in Fine and Applied Arts and also
emerging the best graduating student in my department.

Finally,in 2002 i made an A1 in English and two years later i got admitted to Department of
Fine and Applied Arts,University of Benin. I graduated from the great UNIBEN a decade after
i had my O'level.

Twelve years after my Secondary education i would be going for NYSC. .......Its not how far to me but that i could achieve my DREAM of ever going to UNIVERSITY..
.....I thank God for it.......

I'm getting reading my lugage cos in few days i would be leaving for my posting,,...
.....I beg what do you suggest i should pack,i mean thngs to include in my lugage?

MY MONTHS OF WAITING

My NYSC experience starts with months of WAITING....I left School
September 2006(16 months had gone by) but I 'm still awaiting my posting...
...I had to fill NYSC form 3 times before i got mobilized(imagine that)......
I dont want to bore you with my experience of the time of waiting,but i think
it deem fit for you to know what went wrong.
Its actually strange to everyone i had ever happen to recount this story to.
.....I finished from Department of Fine and Appliied Arts, University
of BEnin,2006 but none of my class mate had gone for NYSC. You ask why?
Senate instisted our CERTIFICATE screening result to be presented before
our final result is given attention....Infact i got my statement of result January
this year,2008. (you wonder)

My experience of waiting 16months for NYSC was not palatable...its something
i can't forget in a life time...So many things had gone by but thank God i have
my webpages to show for it...I would like you to have a feel of what i create...............it's a frill of ethnicity,fashion, and art...... Access my paintings at,........ www.artwanted.com/adeniyi and my wear-able art at www.artwanted.com/duduethnikz

Sometimes i wonder if the NYSC ever worth the WAITING.
