IT'S TIME TO INVEST IN OUR YOUTH

TIME TO INVEST IN OUR YOUTH
It’s time for a change. It’s time to empower our young people to challenge the existing paradigm to make positive change in their immediate environment. Time to tell the outside world that what the country need is not aid but investment.
The truth is that we have a lot of talented and innovative individuals out there who would love and willing to effect change in their community and help make this nation a better place for all but has been hindered by financial constraint, poor electricity supply and inexorable decline condition of our infrastructure amenities. What the young people need is someone to invest in them and a favourable environment for investment.
My message to fellow corps members, the young entrepreneurs is for you not to stop believing in yourself, always push till you succeed in your various chosen careers and profession. When encounter difficulties be enthused by the victory ahead. I have a song for you and want you to draw strength from it at such hard times. It’s a song by Maria Carey, titled HERO.

HERO
There’s a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don’t have to be afraid
Of what you are
There’s an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
‘cause you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It’s a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
‘cause you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don’t let anyone
Tear them away
Just hold on
And there will be tomorrow
And in time
You will find the way
…you will find the way.

Lastly, hold on to your dreams and calling. See you guys at the top after the serving year, I mean NYSC. I’m using this medium to congratulate and wish the batch B 2007 that just passes out the best in life.
